Tom and Jed with TrueGrass! is a new band in the old style, covering material
by the classic bands of old with reverence, and also adapting modern material
and originals to the
bluegrass idiom.
The band was formed as part of a multimedia theatre show about the rural
roots and history of bluegrass. MBOTMA's
own Jed Malischke holds down the banjo / dobro fort. Tom
is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, primarily playing
Doc Watson style guitar and fronting lead vocals.
They're a dynamite duo, a trio with bassist Bruce Qualey,
and a rip-roarin 1950's style bluegrass band with TrueGrass!
